GRIMME Group on course for success

Despite difficult market conditions, the Damme-based family business GRIMME was able to increase its turnover.

Despite difficult market conditions, the Damme-based family business GRIMME was able to increase its turnover from €721 million to €814 million in 2024 within a year. GRIMME Landmaschinenfabrik increased its turnover by 16% to € 583 million.

The positive earnings situation enables solid financing of the largest investment programme in the company's 160-year history. A 40 000 square metre assembly plant for trailed harvesters, a 16 500 square metre logistics hall and a used machine and dispatch centre are being built in the industrial area Niedersachsenpark (close to the A1 motorway). In May 2025, GRIMME took over the modern ‘Advanced’ e-bike factory and will convert it into the new spare parts centre. At the company headquarters in Damme, the shell construction work for the new administration building has been completed. The expansion of the GRIMME Academy will be completed in the course of the year. New locations have been established in South Africa and Brazil to provide more intensive support to sales partners on site.

The US company SPUDNIK has further expanded its market leadership in North America in the areas of potato, vegetable and beet technology. Plastics technology specialist INTERNORM, based in Damme, has succeeded in increasing its turnover – bucking the industry trend – thanks to its new diversification strategy. RICON, manufacturer of webs and conveying equipment, will present a milestone in this segment at Agritechnica 2025 with its patented RICONDA main web changing system.

The conversion of GRIMME Holding GmbH into an SE (European public limited company) marks the completion of the generational change. The brothers Christoph and Philipp Grimme are the fifth generation to take full responsibility for managing the group of companies.

The One.GRIMME strategy which was launched in 2019 has created a successful, future-oriented foundation for this transformation and the successful generational change. As part of this process, Franz and Christine Grimme have joined the newly formed Supervisory Board, where they will contribute their extensive expertise to this important decision-making committee.

"The outlook for the coming months will be significantly influenced by the progress of the harvest. International unrest and uncertainty, low potato and sugar prices, the massive expansion of potato cultivation and various plant diseases are unsettling the market. The Agritechnica 2025 trade fair is an important indicator of the investment climate in the industry and will only allow a reliable forecast for 2026 to be made afterwards. We are confidently tackling these challenges and are well equipped for the future thanks to a dedicated team and many innovations," explain Christoph and Philipp Grimme.
