As early as 1995, the Damme-based family business was one of the first agricultural machinery manufacturers to develop its own digital solutions for machine control. Over the past three decades, GRIMME has built up extensive expertise in digitalisation. Artificial intelligence has recently opened up new potential and possible solutions at almost all levels. A new GRIMME site has been opened at the Coppenrath Innovation Centre (CIC) in Osnabrück to bundle these diverse activities.

‘We recognise the great potential of artificial intelligence, which should be used in a targeted manner and for the added value of our users. We have a competent and experienced team at the new location that summarises the diverse requirements across the Group, develops ideas and drives solutions forward. The institutes and companies also based at the CIC offer an excellent opportunity for networking and synergy,’ Christoph and Philipp Grimme explain this step.

GRIMME relies on new location in Osnabrück to attract young talent and specialists.

Dr Christoph Halbrügge, Head of Engineering and Product IT at GRIMME, sees great opportunities at the company's new location near the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences and University of Osnabrück. ‘We see the opportunity to target young talent here,’ emphasises Halbrügge, describing the strategic importance of the Coppenrath Innovation Centre. GRIMME is also planning to establish successful young talent programmes from the main plant in Damme at the new site in order to develop the next generation of skilled workers. ‘The immediate proximity to the main railway station at the Ringlockschuppen also offers the opportunity to attract skilled workers from the entire region,’ adds Halbrügge.

In addition to its location close to research and educational institutions, GRIMME also intends to develop strong networks with companies in the Ringlockschuppen, the newly emerging Lokviertel and the entire Osnabrück region. ‘Osnabrück is home to numerous relevant companies, institutions and start-ups from the agricultural and IT sectors,’ continues Halbrügge, emphasising the opportunities for collaboration and synergy.

The location

In a first step, 20 jobs will be created at the new GRIMME site. The company is relying on a permanent workforce in the Ringlock shed, supplemented by flexible workstations for project and workshop work. This flexible structure makes it possible to react quickly and efficiently to the requirements of different projects and to create optimal working conditions for employees.
